Someone opened a bank account in my name and deposited my payroll check that had already been deposited into my account. The money was taken from my real account. The fraudulent bank says they have footage of the person. Can they send this video to me, or does it have to go to law enforcement? I am in Texas and have filed a fraud claim to retrieve my money. I don’t bank with them, so I don’t know how that would work. Additionally, when something like this happens, would I have to contact the police, or would they automatically come to me? Does the amount of the transaction make a difference in how they handle the situation?
