The landlord is doing work in the apartment (re-piping 274 units) and started on March 15 with drilling holes in the walls. They connected new pipes on March 19, working until 6:30 p.m. They say an inspection is needed, followed by drywall and painting. How long should this take and should the landlord/manager inform tenants about the progress? Tenants have had to remove items from closets and cabinets, and the apartment is a mess. Do tenants have any rights and should they be compensated (rent) for this interruption?

I had a visit to The Little Clinic in December for an abbreviated physical for cataract surgery and was told they do not file claims with insurance companies, even though they are in-network. I had to pay upfront and filed the claim myself, but the CPT codes used by The Little Clinic do not match the insurance company's requirements. I was told by law they need to file the claim but they refuse. The insurance company told me I am not responsible to pay for that service and I called to get reimbursement, but they refused. Where do I stand and can you help me?

My husband died and left me his self-employed pension plan. Can the IRS take that to pay back taxes? I am 70, the trustee of the plan, and currently in not collectible status. If the pension is rolled over to an IRA for me, will that change my status, and can the IRS take all of my IRA?
