My grandmother died in Alabama and I live in Michigan. She left me a large sum of money in cash. Do I need to pay taxes on this? And are there any traps I need to be careful of depositing this much money into a bank account?

Does a shopper own their purchase data? Specifically, if I want to give permission to a research company to access my Amazon purchase history by giving them my USID and PW, do I have a right to this data? If a site's terms & conditions prohibit this behavior, can they legally do anything to stop this short of terminating the relationship? Is there any case law on the subject?

I have a subletting situation in NYC where a tenant signed a lease, made a partial security deposit, and then backed out without fulfilling the full deposit. She is now taking me to small claims court for the deposit. What should I do to handle this situation and prepare for the court case?

Does anyone know if AAA offers 1.5 million dollar double indemnity life insurance policies? A friend asked me if he should lend money to a girl that claims she is about to come into about 3 million dollars from her husband's life insurance policy and I think she is full of it. Tell me what you think. She claims her husband drowned while having a double indemnity life insurance policy with AAA. She says her minor children in the care of her mother now because she's homeless have already been paid their part of the policy. This is weird because they have two different fathers first and because this grandmother was able to get this money because she holds a power of attorney for the girls. Why would a power of attorney be needed for minors? Apparently, this girl has not collected her share of this money yet because she has not picked up an ID and AAA needs her to bring it in to the office prior to issuing her check which will take two weeks to get here once they see it. Does ANY PART OF THIS SOUND POSSIBLE?

Do I have to leave a key for my condo in case of emergency for the board association, or can I leave a key for my neighbor? Also, does anyone from the board have the right to enter my apartment without my permission, especially if I'm out of the apartment?
