I have an extra car that I have been letting a friend drive for the past 3 years. She has been paying me monthly to use it, and I use that money to pay the finance company for the monthly car payment. My name is the only one listed on the title and the bank loan is solely in my name. I have decided that I now want the car back as I want to sell it and be done with it completely. I’ve given her the option to buy it from me; however, she doesn’t have the money to purchase it. She says because she has been paying me monthly to use it for 3 years that she has rights and ownership in the car. I don’t think she would have any but wanted to ask as she has said she’s going to consult with an attorney. We had no contract, or anything on it through any of the years. Where is this occurring? What steps have you taken so far? Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you?

12 years ago, I received a judgment from the bank for my truck being repossessed. I bought property earlier this year and now want to sell it, but the title company found the judgment and is going to take almost $18k from the sale of my land. The original judgment amount was $9990.14 with 5% interest per year for each additional year it wasn't paid. Is there anything I can do to reduce the penalties, especially since I never knew the bank filed a judgment against me, and they won't produce the paperwork from what they sold the vehicle for at auction?
