I received a United States District Court Violation Notice for 36 CFR 4.14(b) for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle at Cape Lookout National Seashore. The violation occurred when I moved a can of beer in my truck to let someone else move their vehicle. The park ranger issued the citation after inspecting my vehicle. As a federal employee with a security clearance, do I need to report this, or should I just pay the fine instead of seeking an attorney to fight it in court?
