Is it legal for an LLC to deduct money, for money owed by me for an unrelated expense, from an invoice I have written for work/materials owed to me from the LLC? I have requested in writing to be paid in full, and then I would happily pay them whatever I owed them.

I live in an apartment and pay electricity to an electric provider (Reliant). Recently, the apartment became electric for those who needed it, and I got behind on my bill, resulting in my electricity being cut off for 5 days. I resolved the issue with Reliant and got my electricity turned back on, but the apartment has sent a bill for that time. I refused to pay them since I made no agreement with them and they did not turn on the electricity during that time period. Am I liable to pay them?

A family member has done some very bad things to me in the past, including kidnapping me. I want to visit home for Christmas and am tired of him slandering me and denying the things he did. I told my family that either he could sign a document admitting everything or I would get a restraining order. He agreed. I do not have the time or money for a lawyer, but I see lots of legal forms (including affidavits) online. Can I just make up a precise, comprehensive 'confession' for him to sign (with a notary present)? Or will that hold no legal weight?

My daughter received a gift certificate from Liberty Travel for one thousand dollars for her wedding, 16 years ago. I bought it from her 12 years ago because she needed money. We recently found it and took it to Liberty Travel, but they told me it was no good. There is no expiration date on it. Should I pursue this issue further?

Are there any other blood tests required besides proof of a rubella test for marriage in Indiana? Is there still a specific form needed for the doctor to fill out about the rubella test? Does the Indiana Department of Health still provide these forms, or how can we obtain them?
