I live in upstate NY and have friends who live in a local motel. They constantly invite me over, but I was told the owner doesn't like me and doesn't want me there, although the owner has never communicated this to me directly. If I keep getting invited by residents, can the owner have me arrested for trespassing, or do I have to be warned first?

I hired a friend to remodel our house to get it ready to sell. We had a verbal agreement that I would pay for the materials and he would charge $25/hr for labor. I bought the materials, but in the middle of the job, he texted me a bid price to do the work. I assumed the bid price included the materials I had already paid for out of pocket. The job took 3 months and he did not do all the work that he was supposed to. Now he sends me an invoice showing a bid price that I never agreed to and wants additional money for supplies and materials. I told him the total price between what I already paid him and the materials I paid for should have been sufficient and the new total is completely outrageous for the work done. He feels since I made a profit on the house I should pay him more money. Am I legally obligated to pay him based on a price we never agreed on?
