I am a psychologist in South Carolina involved in a custody dispute. The opposing attorney sent me a subpoena for my client's records, which my client initially refused to release. The attorney filed a civil complaint against me for a Motion to Show Cause. My client later signed a release through his attorney, and I emailed the records to the opposing attorney, but he has refused to acknowledge receipt and has not dropped the case against me. What is my liability if he pursues the court hearing?
