What do I need to do to get my brother to repay the $4000.00 I lent him, even though the statute of limitations has expired? I have sent him certified letters and letters to his sons, all of which were returned. The loan was verbal and was made at least 9 years ago. I plan to confront him in March.

I need to file a motion to mitigate a sentence because the court has ordered an interlocking device on my vehicle, but the state and the company that installs these devices do not put them on motorcycles, which is the only vehicle I own. How do I go about filing this motion, and should I do it pro se? The clerk of courts advised me to go to a law library, but I thought they were supposed to provide procedural information and forms.

Our minivan was repossessed and taken out-of-state to Rhode Island. We received a certified letter stating that to redeem the vehicle, we must tender the 'unaccelerated amount due' under our agreement at the time of repossession, along with $260 in retaking and storage expenses. Does 'unaccelerated amount due' mean the final amount we owe without any future payments? Are we still responsible for the $260 even though the vehicle was taken out-of-state? If we pay the unaccelerated amount, would we still be responsible for future monthly payments? Can we ask for the 'accelerated amount' to pay off the loan early without further finance charges?
