Can you please tell me what exactly vasovagal syncope is and if it's life-threatening or associated with strokes? Also, my husband has had four episodes in 52 years. Is that a lot? Is this a heart problem, a neurological problem, or psychological? How can one tell the difference between vasovagal syncope and cardiac syncope? Is there any way to prevent these episodes, and is there any medicine he can take? Additionally, he came home tired with muscle aches and a slight fever after having diarrhea. Does this sound like food poisoning, dehydration, or a stomach bug?

I've been experiencing severe chest and rib pain for about 4 and a half hours. The pain was initially a 10 on a scale of 1-10, but it got better after sitting down and drinking water, only to worsen again. The pain is sharp and stabbing, and it's deeper in my chest. I'm 17 years old and don't have any other medical conditions or take any medications. The pain migrates to my left shoulder, and I've experienced dizziness and shortness of breath when the pain was at its worst. My face and hands have also started tingling. What could be causing this pain, and what should I do?
