I live in a third world country with frequent electrical failures and high temperatures. I had a VDRL test at a small lab, which came back positive twice. My partner tested negative in another country. I have no symptoms of syphilis and am doubtful of the results. Can you advise me?

Our son is 32 years old and lives in Oregon. He gets continuous infections-abscesses with MRSA and has been treated several times with two days of IV Bactrim but the infections keep coming back. The Drs there keep lancing the abscesses and then give two treatments with IV Bactrim. This does not seem to work as he has night sweats, chest pain, and a low-grade fever. Is there a better treatment regimen?
