I am a 41-year-old female with a history of competitive sports. For the past 4 months, I've had severe lower back, hip, and thigh pain on the left side, sometimes bed-bound. My MRI showed L4/L5 broad-based disc bulge and an annulus tear, and L5/S1 left paracentral disc protrusion. How severe is this condition, how long will I likely be in pain, and can I return to sports? The doctor recommended physiotherapy; is this a good approach?

I have a bite on my leg with 2 small puncture wounds and bruising around the area. My stomach is nauseous and keeps cramping up. How long have you had the cramping? Have you used any medication for it? Have you seen a doctor about the cramping? Is there anything else in your medical history the Doctor should know?

I woke up with pain in my neck, right shoulder blade, and upper back area. The pain is worse today and affects my range of motion. It hurts to raise my head and turn it to either side. I took Tylenol and used a heating pad, but there was no relief. Does this sound like I slept wrong or something else?

I had unprotected sex with a girl on New Year's Eve, and she told me five days later that she has HSV-2. I am concerned about my chances of contracting HSV-2 and what steps I should take to protect myself and my wife. I have a small dot on my penis, but no other symptoms. What are the chances of me having contracted HSV-2, and what should I do to ensure I don't pass it on to my wife?
