I am experiencing severe shortness of breath and voice hoarseness, which started about a year ago after a bad case of pneumonia. My pulmonary function test results showed 62% efficiency, and my blood work indicates a slightly high white blood cell count, slightly high red blood cell count, and slightly low MPV. I am 35 years old and have no history of COPD or pulmonary fibrosis. What could be causing these symptoms, and what further tests or examinations should I consider?

I find myself crying for little or no reason. This has been happening off and on for years but has become embarrassing. I also feel like I'm wearing earplugs, have trouble understanding the first words spoken at a normal rate, and have suffered from vertigo several times. I've tried medication for anger and other issues for two years but it didn't seem to help. I take medication for blood pressure, cholesterol, and acid reflux. I had neck surgery two years ago and had thyroid problems last year, taking medication for four months, but it was okay afterward. What could be causing this?
