I am experiencing urgency/frequency and intermittent urethral spasms, mostly at night, since February 2021. The pain at the tip of my penis has improved, but the urgency/frequency and spasms persist. I am currently seeing a pelvic floor therapist and a psychologist for anxiety, and I am taking Lexapro, Klonopin, and Cyclobenzaprine. I completed a 30-day course of Doxycycline for potential prostatitis, which helped with the pain but not the urgency/frequency. I am concerned about the involuntary urethral spasms and whether they will resolve on their own. Additionally, I am wondering if it is safe to continue taking Cyclobenzaprine beyond the initial 3-week prescription and if there is a chance I have a urethral stricture.
