I have been experiencing shivers, coughing short bursts, and a burning sensation in the middle of my chest for the past 2 days. The coughing is constant, and I also feel a little tightness in my chest when I cough. My nose is congested and runny, but not much comes out when I blow it. I am 60 years old and currently taking 2 Tylenol and 2 Advil every 6 hours. What could be causing these symptoms and what can I do to alleviate them?

I was tested for herpes using the IgM antibody test, but I read that IgG is more accurate because IgM antibodies for herpes disappear over time. How long does it take for IgM to disappear, and can I accurately rely on my negative IgM results, or should I retest using IgG? Additionally, my doctor ordered IgG testing, but only IgM results were posted. Why might this be, and should I be concerned about the delay in IgG results?

I have been diagnosed with chronic idiopathic urticaria with angioedema and have been taking Zyrtec 2x per day to prevent reactions. However, I noticed that when I stopped taking Zyrtec, the swelling in my face from angioedema almost completely went away. When I resumed taking Zyrtec, the swelling returned. I am now considering stopping Zyrtec to see if it helps reduce the swelling. Have you ever encountered a patient where Zyrtec or another histamine medication caused angioedema, and do you think it's possible that Zyrtec could be causing my angioedema?
