I got a second cold and ended up with a sinus infection. I started the cold about 12 days ago and have been on Augmentin for about 7 days. The thick dark yellow bloody discharge stopped quickly, but I still have a lot of clear mucus flooding down my throat most of the time. Does this mean I will start a new infection when I stop the Augmentin in 3 days? Also, why is the mucus continuing 12 days into a cold and after 7 days of an antibiotic? I do not have allergic symptoms. Additionally, I am worried about my cough. I coughed a lot yesterday, especially at a cold football game, and felt a tickle in my nasopharynx. Does this sound like it was caused by something other than the lungs? I also had a bit of rumbling in my chest, but it went away quickly. Is this a good sign?
