I had an injection site reaction to a GLP1 medication (Trulicity) and am trying to figure out if this means I have an allergy that would prevent me from using an oral GLP1 medication. I didn’t have any systemic symptoms, just a red, raised itchy area around the injection site. I need to get back on another medication for blood sugar and would like to use Rybelsus but my doctor said he was hesitant due to the response to the Trulicity injection. I’m wanting a second opinion as to whether it is a true allergy.
