I have >100,000 CFU/ml of Gram-negative bacilli identified as Escherichia hermanii in a urine culture. I experienced severe flank pain and nausea, which persist, and the flank pain is returning. I am fatigued and having headaches, possibly due to working 12-hour days. I was prescribed Levaquin by the ER, but my urologist said there was nothing wrong and advised me to stop taking the medication after three days. What recommendations do you have?
