I have a ball-like feeling in the ring finger joint on my left hand. It's not visible from the surface, and I am 19 years old and female. I've noticed it about 6 months ago. It feels like the size of a pea and doesn't hurt unless I press on it. It has gotten inflamed before, growing slightly bigger and causing significant pain. What could this be, and should I get it checked out?

I have a small, hard bump in my chin just above my Adam’s Apple. It feels like the size of a pea, doesn’t hurt, and moves under my nail. I noticed it last night and there have been no changes. It’s not itchy or a different color than my skin, and I can’t see it when I pull my skin back. I’m 21 years old, don’t take regular medication, and my grandfather was a lifelong smoker who had lung cancer. I’ve been having cold-like symptoms a lot recently. What could this bump be, and should I be concerned about it?

I have severe itching in my throat and on the roof of my mouth, along with dryness and occasional soreness. I also experience post-nasal drip and ear itching. I have mild seasonal allergies and am sensitive to chemicals. I live in a new home with off-gassing furniture and have recently been in a burned house. I take Allegra daily but it hasn't helped. What could be causing this and how can I alleviate the symptoms?

I have had a boil on the top of my head for the last 3 days. I have been coping with a stressful life over the last several months, which may be affecting my immune system. The boil is constant and has not come and gone. I am 76 years old, in overall good health, and not currently using any medications. I do not have any particular medical history that stands out, and I am not experiencing fever or malaise. What should I do about the boil?

I have been prescribed 2mg of Ativan for 30 days. I am concerned about potential dependence and withdrawal symptoms. What are your thoughts on this prescription and how should I taper off the medication if needed?

I'm borderline Type 2 diabetic. After eating, I get a headache and feel really sleepy about 30-40 minutes later. I'm currently on Metformin and Jardiance to help lower my A1C. Is this a normal response, and are there any dietary suggestions to help manage this? Additionally, my mom and both sisters have thyroid issues, and my youngest daughter is being referred to an endocrinologist for possible thyroid issues. My blood work for thyroid comes back normal, but I have similar symptoms to my sister. Is it possible to have thyroid issues despite normal bloodwork, and if so, what tests should I ask for?
