My husband was just diagnosed with the beginning stages of Parkinson's. How do they know it is Parkinson's and not something else?

I experience sudden chills, my left leg and arm going to sleep, shaking uncontrollably, feeling lightheaded and dizzy, slight numbness on the left side of my face, very dry and cracked hands that bleed and itch, and back itching. This has been occurring for 2-3 weeks off and on, and seems worse when sitting. I have diabetes and use Levimir 10 ml insulin. Could these symptoms be related to a pinched nerve, diabetes, or a side effect of my insulin?
