I have the Paragard IUD. My period was a week and a half late, and now I'm bleeding heavily with large blood clots, the largest being about 2.5 inches in diameter. I'm experiencing pain on my right side and it's painful to the touch. I also have a history of cervical dysplasia and ovarian cysts. I have no insurance and my doctor is out of town for the week. Should I go to the ER?

I have had severe diarrhea and sometimes constipation, irregular periods, always feeling tired, and muscle fatigue for years. Two years ago, a test showed my thyroid was underactive, but a retest a month later was normal. Last week, my blood tests showed abnormal thyroid levels again. I have gained a lot of weight over the last two years and have been trying to lose it, but my weight fluctuates. I have been asked to repeat the blood test in April. Why is my thyroid underactive or not? Last time, I was told it could have been because I had a cold, but this time I was fine except for the symptoms I have been complaining about for the last two years. I am feeling really depressed by the whole thing now.
