I have been going to the VA Hospital for many years and have a service-connected disability for which I receive Clonazepam tablets. I am satisfied with this medication, but every 2-3 years, a new intern suggests switching to SSRIs or going to mental health, which I am against due to distance and past experiences. I am concerned about addiction and withdrawal symptoms from SSRIs. I have reduced my Clonazepam dosage from 3mg to 1mg daily but cannot reduce it further. I am 76 years old and do not want to endure withdrawal agony. Is there any way to avoid these frequent medication changes and ensure I continue with my current treatment?
