I have had numbness in my left leg and up my left side for about 6 years, which has stopped progressing for the past 2 years. I also experience occasional twitching and have scoliosis, but it's not severe. I've been in a car crash and have had chest X-rays but no MRI. What could be causing this numbness and what tests should I undergo for a proper diagnosis?

I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. During flare-ups, the people who should be supportive often react negatively, making my situation worse. What can I do or say to them to communicate that their negative attitude is unhelpful?

Hello, I have a problem with my left index finger. Eight years ago, it was nearly amputated after an accident involving a power saw. The saw went through the third bone from the tip, which had to be screwed back on. One of the screws has come loose and will be removed. There is considerable keloid scarring, giving the finger a boomerang shape, and the feeling has never returned. The joint is now in terrible condition and is arthritic, although there is no pain. Is it feasible or possible for me to have an artificial joint placed in the finger? What are the risks involved, such as the possibility of the finger being lost during the operation? I am a 63-year-old male and a Veterans Affairs gold card holder, willing to pay for the operation if necessary.

I have chronic pain due to multiple surgeries, severe adhesions, endometriosis, ovarian remnant disease, and large hemorrhagic ovarian cysts that rupture. I've been on oxycontin for 7 years and now a doctor is recommending a pain specialist, but I've already been told by one that only pain meds can help me. I've also been told I need a colostomy due to severe colon involvement. How can I manage my pain and find effective treatment?
