I have recently weaned myself off Oxy Contin after using it for a serious back injury. I am experiencing severe panic attacks, exhaustion, lack of appetite, diarrhea, shakes, and difficulty functioning. My doctors have prescribed Valium, but I am still struggling. Hi Dr. Basu, Dr. Thomas suggested I be tested for Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO). Is this something you would suggest? I ask because I was reading how the MD normally treats it, and it said they use amoxicillin. I just got off a 14-day cycle of amoxicillin, and while it was amazing with the other issue, I'm not sure it's the right direction to go. Thanks, doctor!

I have a varicose vein and just discovered a lump in that area. It is below the skin, not too deep, and there is an ache and swelling about the size of a quarter. Should I be worried?

I have had constant mild nausea for over a week now. It started after eating some bad food and has not gone away despite trying various remedies. I have no appetite and the nausea seems to worsen at night. I visited the doctor who ruled out pregnancy, sugar levels, etc., and everything came back normal. I am still waiting for results from liver and thyroid tests. I am avoiding certain foods but am still nauseous even without eating or drinking. What could be causing this and what can I do to alleviate it?
