I have stabbing pains on the left side of my body, mainly in the chest. I have been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, acid reflux, and muscle pain, and have been taking various medications including Nozer and folic acid, but the pain persists. I also have diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, for which I take chronic medications. I had a Septo-rhinoplasty operation in October last year and am currently suffering from acute sinusitis. I am a smoker. What could be causing the pain and what tests should I undergo?

For the past 3 weeks, I have had persistent lower abdominal pain that is a dull burn lasting all day, with occasional relief in the evenings. My bowel movements have varied between constipation and watery stools, and recently returned to normal but odorless. I have seen my family doctor twice, who suspected diverticulitis and prescribed antibiotics, but subsequent tests including an abdominal X-ray and CT scan showed no signs of diverticulitis. My white blood cells were also normal. I have been referred to a gastro specialist, but the appointment is weeks away. Could this be a severe flare-up of IBS, and are these symptoms similar to those of colorectal cancer, which I know is uncommon for my age?

Long term breathing issues. I have been to the ER 20 times in the last few years and seen doctors countless times. They say it's anxiety. Would something serious have been 100% picked up by now?

I have recently been discharged from the hospital and referred to a Hematologist for unexplained bruising and swelling of my feet, ankles, and calves. Specialized bloodwork has been taken on the suspicion of Von Willebrand disease. What exactly is Von Willebrand's, is it life-threatening, and are treatments available? Also, if it isn't Von Willebrand's, what else might it be?
