I heard a grinding sound and felt two pops while reaching for a sock, resulting in sharp pain in my rib area under my left breast. The pain is constant but more intense when I take a deep breath. I had an x-ray which showed no fractures. I am managing the pain with Toradol and steroid shots, over-the-counter Aleve, and am currently on Trazadone, Sertraline, Symbicort, and Albuterol inhalers. I am 59 years old with a history of COPD and osteopenia. What should I do for this rib pain?
