Wendy M. asked
Last night I had chest pain and slight numbness in my left arm. My family has a history of high blood pressure. Could it have been a heart attack? The chest pain comes and goes, sometimes sharp and sometimes dull. My grandmother also had diabetes.

I have air bubbles, audible popping, and cracking sounds when I touch my chest. The doctor believes this is due to fluid in my chest from a quick altitude change from 520 ft to 11200 ft. They can't find anything wrong with my lungs, but I want a second opinion about my lungs. Additionally, I have chest pain, weakness, difficulty breathing, and the symptoms are worsening over time. My oxygen and blood pressure are okay. Can I fly, and what could be causing these symptoms?

What causes pain in the left, lower back/below waist area that started this morning around 11am, comes and goes, and is dull and achy? The pain temporarily subsides when passing gas but returns within a minute or two. The individual is a female taking medications for diabetes, pulmonary hypertension, Warfarin, Metoprolol, and Simvastatin, and has irregular bowel movements.

My husband is 50 years old with no underlying conditions. His recent blood work showed elevated liver enzymes (AST 166/ALT 73) and slightly elevated glucose, with all other results normal. He doesn’t drink alcohol, eat fatty foods, or have hepatitis. What could be causing these abnormal results?

I have been experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth and occasional blood in my sputum for the past 6 weeks. I have seen a dentist, ENT, and had an EGD and chest X-ray, all of which showed no significant issues. I am on omeprazole and Allegra, and I do not have a chronic cough. I am worried about lung cancer, especially since I have a gene mutation (APC) that increases cancer risk. What could be causing this blood in my sputum, and how can you be sure it's not lung cancer?
