I have a platelet count of 61 (thrombocytopenia) and mild liver issues including small lesions from a CAT scan 2.5 years ago. I'm experiencing loss of appetite, easy bruising, difficulty with clotting, and elevated AST levels. How much trouble am I in, is thrombocytopenia reversible, and are there medications for it? I'm already modifying my diet and reducing alcohol intake.

My sister has stage 4 urothelial cancer, subsequent cystectomy, bowel obstruction, and laparotomy showing no possible intervention. She was sent home on Hospice with an N/G tube for suction and expected sepsis. After 13 days, her incision dehisced, and there is visible viscera with fecal drainage. Despite this, she has no fever, with temperatures between 95-97°F, and normal blood pressure and pulse. Why is this happening?
