I had symptoms of a cold on July 8th, including a sore throat, tiredness, and headache, but no cough, congestion, or fever. I self-quarantined and took a COVID test, which came back negative. I also took a Z-pack for possible strep throat. Since then, I've experienced throat tightness, chest pressure, difficulty breathing, and fatigue, especially with activity. My oxygen levels and pulse are normal, and I have no fever or loss of smell. I'm awaiting the results of another COVID test and have been referred to a cardiologist. My questions are: 1) How do I know when to go to the ER? 2) How dangerous is just resting and waiting a few weeks for a cardiology appointment? 3) Should I wait for the results of the other COVID test before ending my self-quarantine?
