Do doctors know if you have filled a prescription that they have written, and are they notified by the pharmacy? If a prescription for Adderall was written in early March 2012 and has never been filled, is it too late to fill it?

I am menopausal and experiencing weight gain in specific areas such as underarms, breastbone, and back of neck. I exercise approximately 1.5 hours per day, including walking and biking, and consume between 1500-2000 calories daily. I have hot flashes, poor sleep, and no libido. My doctor did not prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and has not tested my hormone levels. Do I need to see an endocrinologist?
