I'm having a routine colonoscopy and I'm worried because I've had lobular breast cancer. Do you think the gastroenterologist will do random sampling on me, and what are the chances of finding any cancer or polyps during the procedure?

I recently divorced and discovered that my ex-husband and I both have hepatitis C. His condition was less progressed than mine. The doctor advised him to wait before starting treatment. Why would a doctor suggest this, and what does this mean for me?

How long should it take for a nurse to perform a soapsuds enema and glycerine suppository, and how long should I hold the enema in my rectum? Additionally, what are your recommendations for managing vaginal prolapse without surgery, considering I have tried a pessary and vaginal suppository (Clotrimazole)?

I had 3 small blood clots (bright red/maroon) after my last bowel movement. It was a sudden, unformed bowel movement. I had 2 fairly normal movements before this one. Is this a hemorrhoid? No pain during movement, but I have felt itching and sharp stabbing pains from time to time. My main symptoms are stomach pains, weird "butterflies in head" that come on fast and are hard to explain, with random nausea and flank pain. I have had numerous tests including 2 CT scans with contrast, an ultrasound, brain MRI, colonoscopy & endoscopy, 20+ blood tests, stool tests, HIDA scan, and chest CT since February of this year. All are normal except for a slightly elevated ALP 131. Do you think this is stress and anxiety and hemorrhoids?

My mother is weaning off prednisone. She is on 25 mg and weaning 5 mg a week, but the side effects of the medication are making her very ill and she needs to stop the medication as soon as possible. What is the worst thing that can happen to her if she stops or weans off quicker?

I am 66 years old. Recently, a new supervisor at work triggered a flashback to a traumatic experience with a supervisor over 20 years ago. Despite the current supervisor assuring me she did not intend to be threatening, the anxiety persists. I am easily sedated by medications. Is there an anxiolytic that I can take in a small enough dose to 'take the edge off' the anxiety I am experiencing?
