I recently took lab tests after fasting for 18 hours, during which I consumed only water and used dipping snuff (tobacco product). Could the use of snuff have affected the results of my glucose/A1C and lipid panel tests? If my A1C lab test result was 9.8, which is much higher than a recent glucose meter reading of 128 (6.08 A1C), should I retake these tests?

I'm 50 and going through menopause. Periodically throughout the years, I have had breast pain. I've had normal mammograms and ultrasounds. Now the pain is back, and I had another negative mammogram. My doctor ordered an MRI, which was declined by insurance, and now he is sending me to a breast surgeon. Besides the worst-case scenarios, what can this be?
