I recovered from COVID back in March but have had a dry cough twice since then, once in September and again now. Both times, the cough lasted over a week and felt like a tickle in my throat, causing frequent coughing. I've had negative COVID tests recently. What could be causing this persistent dry cough?

Hi, I have two parents in a rest home that I have not been able to visit now that we are in Level 2 as I keep getting a very mild sore throat on and off over the past week. I was unable to attend work for the same reason and was asked to get Covid tested which I did. The results were negative. Over the past week I have had only 3 occasions of having this very mild throat issue, this morning, Thurs night and last Sunday night. How long do I keep having to stay home in my bubble when it comes and goes like this? I work in Early Childhood so attending work is also out. Thanks for any guidance you can give me.
