I had laparoscopic repair of hiatal hernia 8 days ago. Today I have a slightly high eosinophils count (552). Could the surgery have triggered this, as in infection or inflammation from surgery? I also have a head cold (runny nose, cough, etc.) -- could the high eosinophils indicate 'fighting a cold'? I have a follow-up with the surgeon in 1 week. Do I need to be concerned and take any action before then? Thank you.

My wife, who is 60 years old and in great shape, has experienced numbness and tingling in her right arm three times and in her right leg twice over the last two days. She has also lost feeling for periods of up to 30 minutes and has been complaining of constant headaches. She has not complained of any pain and has no significant medical history except for scarring from endometriosis in her youth. Should we be concerned and what should we do next?
