I suffered a soccer injury 7 hours ago where my right index finger was jammed by a strong force from a ball. I don't feel any broken bones, but is it possible for a fractured finger to not feel like a fracture? The finger is swollen and hurts quite a bit. If it is a sprain, what are the consequences of a sprain if untreated? Also, is it true that if a bone is fractured, it can cause fat embolism syndrome, and is a finger bone, if broken, too small to release enough fat into the bloodstream for that to be a brain-threatening or lung-threatening situation?
