I've been taking high doses of opiates for chronic pain for about 3 years and have recently stopped due to personal reasons. I'm experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms including flu-like symptoms, insomnia, and lack of motivation. Can my GP help me with this, and if not, what can I do to feel better? How long should these withdrawal symptoms last?

My 27-year-old son has been experiencing chronic, severe stomach pain for almost 2 years, described as a knife twisting inside him. He has frequent vomiting of blood and blood in his stool, is always cold despite sweating, and has lost 103 lbs in the past 5 months. Despite extensive tests including blood work, CT scan, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ultrasound, doctors attribute his condition to stress. He has been prescribed medical marijuana, but it only provides temporary relief. He feels his body shutting down and has no quality of life. What could be causing his condition, and what further steps can be taken to diagnose and treat him?

I am having acute prostatitis pain. It started suddenly about an hour or two ago. I am taking antibiotics for prostatitis/UTI, but have only started a week ago. I took 2 Advil and the pain has not decreased. Is it safe to take a 5-325mg Oxycodone on top of the 400mg Advil? If the pain doesn't stop, what should I do? Is this life-threatening?
