I've taken my temperature for the last three days in the morning, and it has been 96.5°F. I haven't seen a doctor yet, I feel fine, and I'm taking low-dose aspirin and lovastatin 40mg once per day. I have knee replacement surgery in 2 weeks. A pre-op nose swab revealed a staph infection, but it's not MRSA. The nurse is giving me an ointment to use in both nostrils for 5 days before the surgery. Should I be concerned about this infection and the surgery? Will the ointment solve it?

What are my chances of contracting HIV if I accidentally touched a friend's cut or scrape with my nail, which has a small paper cut? My friend's cut was red but I'm not sure if it was bleeding, and my cut was not bleeding.

How is it possible that someone receiving B12 injections for a severe deficiency could end up with critically low hemoglobin requiring multiple transfusions, and should this not have been noticed in follow-up lab testing during the course of receiving B12 injections?

I accidentally took a double dose of 5mg each of amlodipine and Ramipril, which are my daily blood pressure medications. Is there any problem with that?
