My 79-year-old mother suddenly started experiencing sharp, stabbing knee pain two days ago, making it difficult for her to stand. She has diabetes, heart failure, and COPD. What could be causing her knee pain, and what immediate steps can be taken to alleviate her discomfort?

I have COVID and was given antiviral medication, but every time I have taken it, I have thrown it up. Should I persevere with it or not? I have a fever, a cough, but not shortness of breath at the moment. I am located in Morley WA, and I am not sure how widespread COVID-19 is in my area. I have not used the antiviral or anything similar before, I am 60 years old, and I have mild asthma and am on blood pressure meds.

I had gastric bypass surgery 6 weeks ago and have been experiencing severe nausea from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, difficulty keeping down liquids or small bites of food, and constant constipation despite being on multiple medications including Zofran, phenergan, reglan, a scopalimine patch, Senekot, dulcolax, and a stool softener. I recently added miralax to the mix but it hasn't helped. Could something be wrong due to the surgery, and how long can I go without a bowel movement before it becomes a concern?

I recently discovered that my alanine aminotransferase (ALT) level was markedly elevated (162 U/L) during a previous ER visit for GI bleeding. The doctor wasn't concerned at the time, but I'm worried about how this might affect my life insurance application. I take a lot of Tylenol for back pain and have a history of fatty liver disease. Is this ALT level concerning, and could it raise a red flag for my insurance?
