My husband has had an elevated RDW in his last two blood profiles. In 2021, it was 15, and it has been 17 since. All other values were normal, including B12. He has a history of heart issues, including aortic valve replacement, coronary artery bypass, and an aortic aneurysm repair. My husband is sick with flu and I'm wondering if he may need an antibiotic. He has had flu before, is stable but not getting better, and is a diabetic. He has a sore throat, aching all over, tightness in throat, cough, and fever on and off. He also has a puffer he is taking. What do you recommend?
