My wife had normal liver function blood tests in December. She was put on sulfasalazine for arthritis for two weeks and turned jaundiced. Her blood work today showed all liver functions at about 200 times normal. Should she wait for her general doctor appointment on Friday or go to the ER or find a hepatologist near Punta Gorda, Florida?

I have had many MRIs and doctors' visits since then, with no other concerns mentioned. What could be causing these symptoms, and what further tests should I consider?
