Three days ago, I started noticing my right leg is swollen under the kneecaps and above the ankle. The swelling comes and goes. I started taking iron pills four days ago and noticed my stool is black. I am also taking blood pressure pills and am overweight. What could be causing this and what should I do?

Are sinus infections contagious, and if so, how are they transmitted? I've been dealing with symptoms for a week and a half, including massive amounts of green mucus from my nose and throat. I don't want to take antibiotics but am around people. I recently returned from Brazil and initially had diarrhea and vomiting.

I am 63 years old with a BMI of nearly 40, weighing 263 lbs and standing 5'7". I am on multiple medications including Metformin, Gabapentin, Warfarin, Tiazem, Lisinopril, HCTZ/Triamterene, Zolpidem, Cymbalta, Simvastatin, Atenolol, and Meclizine. I cycle 100 miles weekly and have good blood results, but I feel lethargic and tired unless I'm cycling. My PCP says I'm OK but suggests weight loss. I've tried dieting but regain weight. What can I do to improve my energy levels and overall well-being, including intimacy with my wife?
