I've been experiencing tightening sensations in my throat around the voice box, a feeling of tightness and anxiety, dry mouth, and blocked ears, which seem to improve at night but worsen during the day. I also have very dark circles under my eyes, which I thought might be due to iron deficiency. I'm a healthy 26-year-old woman with no history of throat cancer or similar issues. Could this be a virus, or something more serious like thyroid problems?

I am 70 years old and have been experiencing a persistent cough, chest pains, high white blood cell count, low blood pressure, and pain under the left rib cage for the past 5 weeks. I have been hospitalized, undergone bronchoscopy and gastroscopy, and taken new blood tests, but the symptoms remain unchanged. I was told I have a bacterial infection. What could be causing these symptoms, and what further tests should I pursue?
