My dad has been experiencing a fever (99.5°F), headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, chest pain when taking deep breaths, and numbness in his feet for a few weeks. He was diagnosed with a closed head injury and a flu (not COVID-19) after visiting the ER, where they conducted blood tests and CT scans. He also has a history of hepatitis C, ITP, and a previous severe thigh infection. What could be causing these symptoms and what should be done to help him?

My TSH is now normal, and TPO antibodies are within normal limits. However, I read that having antibodies despite normal TSH levels indicates Hashimoto's, not hypothyroidism. Is this true, and how should this be interpreted? Also, how does this affect treatment compared to hypothyroidism?
