I believe I have a vaginal infection. It has been recurring for the last couple of weeks. My doctor prescribed clotrimazole, but it caused too much burning, so I stopped after three applications and switched to Canes Oral yesterday. I am 74 years old, a widow for the past three years with no sexual partners. I also have an underactive thyroid, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure, all of which are being treated by my doctor. What can I do to treat and prevent this vaginal infection?

I have a small, pea-sized lump on my outer labia that is just below the surface of the skin. It feels hard but doesn't hurt unless I squeeze it. I noticed it two nights ago and it hasn't grown or changed in size. I'm concerned because I have no insurance and can't afford a doctor visit. What could this lump be, and how long should I wait before seeking medical attention if it doesn't go away?
