I had insertive anal intercourse with a condom breakage. I started Truvada within 24 hours as PEP. I later learned that a third drug is typically added to this regimen, but I was not prescribed it. Is a third drug critical for PEP to work, and if so, is it too late to start it now? Or would starting it now still make sense having started Truvada on time? Additionally, I'm experiencing unpleasant GI effects from Truvada, such as persistent diarrhea. Should I consider adding a third drug despite the side effects and the late start?
