I've noticed that whenever I have sexual intercourse, it is often a little painful and not enjoyable. There is also a slight burning sensation afterward. I don't have vaginal dryness and I'm able to lubricate well, but I was sexually abused as a child. What would be the cause of this and how can I fix this problem?

Four years ago at the age of 46, I had a total hysterectomy due to ovarian cysts and was put on 1mg estradiol daily. I feel emotionally and physically unstable, lack energy, have frequent migraines, and am gaining weight. My doctor suggested reducing HRT, but I felt worse when I tried to stop it. I'm currently taking it every other day and have tried hormone cream without certainty of its benefits. What does estradiol do for me apart from preventing hot flushes?
