My girlfriend has been experiencing bleeding and severe pain in her uterus area for the past 2 weeks. She has had an IUD for about a year and this is her first time bleeding with it. She can't remember her last pap test or pelvic exam and has no specific medical history. The pain is getting worse and sometimes it's light bleeding and sometimes heavy. What could be causing this and what should we do?
