My boyfriend lives abroad and won't be back until September. Can I stop the pill after I finish this cycle and start it again the month before he comes as I won't be needing any protection till then? Is that possible or is it not good for the body?

I have been on Tri-Sprintec birth control pills for about 4 months and take them regularly. Last week I was put on Amoxicillin for an ear infection and stopped taking them on Monday. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on Thursday, and I'm worried about the chances of being pregnant. Would it be a good idea to take the Plan B morning after pill just to be safe? Or does Amoxicillin not really affect birth control pills as much as I think?

I am a 32-year-old married woman with no children, active lifestyle, and had a tubal ligation in March 2009. Since June 2009, I have experienced deep pain in my right buttock and hip, progressing to a deep dull bone pain in my right thigh that worsens before my period, pain over my right ovary when standing/stretching, no missed/heavy or unusual menstrual cycles, nausea at night, and flushing face with heavy sweats lasting about five minutes. I can only see one primary care physician for a 15-minute appointment, who is often behind schedule and not very attentive. What could be causing these symptoms, and what tests or diagnostic tools should I push for during the appointment? Should I request to see my gynecologist or the surgeon who performed the tubal ligation?
