A husband and wife formed a Family LLC to pass wealth to their descendants in anticipation of an estate tax liability. Their real estate properties were contributed to the LLC, and they gifted a percentage of shares to various descendants over the years. Upon their passing, the value of the properties held by the LLC did not exceed the current estate tax exemption amount. Now, if the LLC sells property at a gain, they will have to pay capital gains tax. How can the family cash out without having to pay capital gains tax? What options do they have to minimize their exposure in this situation?

I am divorced with one child and want to cover my taxes but get as much take-home pay as possible. How many allowances can I claim? I am taking the child support credit and pay my spouse $1000/month in child support. My HR person suggested putting in 99 for allowances, but I would owe taxes. I did an online calculator and it came up with 14 allowances, but too much was taken out in taxes according to the worksheet.

How exactly would you outsource additional tax or accounting work if your practice is getting too big? Is it okay to use independent contractors? Can they sign the return under your firm or does it need to be their own? Can you review and sign off on their work and they don't have to be treated as employees? How should they be paid? Can it be a percentage of the return? How can you ensure that the information provided won't be compromised given the current cybersecurity situation? Please provide very good opinions and references.

I ran payroll for myself in February and March as a sole proprietor (single member LLC) without knowing I couldn't. How do I remedy the situation, given that I have already paid and filed quarterly payroll taxes through Paychex?
