I’m a college student who is sorting out how to fill out the 1098-T form in my taxes. If I have tuition I’m about to pay this week that was for tuition due at the end of 2023, would that payment be put into my 2023 taxes I’m currently filing? Or will it belong in my next year’s taxes since it will have been paid within 2024?

I moved to the US in 2021 on a Student F1 Visa, studied for 8 months, then extended my F1 with OPT starting October 2021, then STEM OPT in October 2022. In 2023, I moved from F1 to H1B in Oct/November. In 2024, I transferred my H1B to a new employer. I spent ~342 days in the US in 2023 and ~335 days in 2022. What will be my residency status in 2024 for tax purposes, and can I consider myself a Resident for tax purposes as of 01-01-2024?
